Meghan Trainor (“All About the Bass”)
and Colbie Caillat (“Try” are two strong young women singer-songwriters. We like their messages of empowerment.
Meghan, 20, grew up in Nantucket, Ma. and recorded three albums by the time she was 17. She has written for Rascal Flatts, Hunter Hayes and Ryan Follese of Hot Chelle Rae.
Her debut album for Epic Record her bouncy hit which celebrates curvy girls who should, as she says, “love your body no matter what.”
Colbie, 30, grew up in California. “Try” is the lead single on her fifth studio album, “Gypsy Heart” and is written with Babyface and Jason Reeves. Colbie says, “It’s this song I’ve had in my head my entire life about personal insecurities, imperfections, self-confidence issue.”
